Public Service Announcement

April 15, 2026

It has come to the attention of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe that a fraudulent Facebook page is impersonating the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Powwow and messaging individuals requesting money for sponsorships, vendor fees, and event attendance.

The SCIT Powwow Committee will NEVER solicit payments through Facebook messages, personal accounts, or unofficial pages. All official communication and payments are handled directly by a SCIT Powwow Committee Member – Darcy Pilar, Seryna Acuna, Niibin Sprague, Carla Bennett, Dabian Sprague, Naomi McCormack, and Noelle Wells. All vendor payments are paid directly to Darcy Pilar or Seryna Acuna who can be found in the Black Elk building, Monday – Friday; 8 am – 5 pm. Darcy Pilar is located in the Treasury Department and Seryna Acuna is located in Human Resources. Checks and Money Orders are to be made out to SCIT Powwow and we also accept cash. Please DO NOT send money or share personal information with this fraudulent page.

The SCIT Powwow Committee does NOT have an official Facebook page for the Powwow. For accurate information, please refer only to the official Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Facebook page, email communications, and the website - https://www.sagchip.org/pow-wow/index.htm

It should be noted that unauthorized use of the SCIT logo, branding, or official powwow flyers/photos is strictly prohibited. Any reproduction, distribution, or use of these materials for purposes other than personal viewing and sharing from official sources is not permitted.

Any questions can be sent to powwowcommittee@sagchip.org.

We appreciate your help in protecting the integrity of the SCIT community. Please share this message to assist in spreading awareness.
