Bennett, Frederick "Red", Jr., age 48, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026.

Funeral Services for Red will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 15, 2026,

at 1 p.m. The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, May 15, beginning at 12 p.m. until

the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be

available at the funeral chapel.

Red was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on September 2, 1977, the son of Frederick, Sr. and

Nancy (Goetzel) Bennett. He was a member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Red enjoyed

anything to do with sports; he liked fishing, golfing, and disc golfing. He loved all his Michigan

teams: University of Michigan, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Redwings.

Red is survived by his children, Meredith Bennett (DeShawn Atkins), Frederick (Shyland) Bennett,

Ill, Elizabeth Bennett, Savannah Bennett, Chastity Bennett, George Bennett, and Everly Bennett;

grandchildren Jayda, Jordlynn, Zion, Zaharah, Nori, Kenai, Nova, Nadilyn, Emelia, Zakhii, Nalaia,

Nariah; sisters Nyra Bennett and Lillian Bennett; brother "Bit Laden"; best friend Matt Kay;

nieces and nephews John Ball, Josh Ball, Rose Bennett, Ethan Bennett, Donny Bennett; and many

great nieces and great nephews.

Red was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Christopher "Toby" and Donny Bennett;

uncle Dave Bennett; aunt Rose Bennett; niece Shayla Ball; son-in-law Nick Gurtowsky; grandma

and grandpa Bennett; and grandma Nyra Goetzel.
